FEED THE FUTURE
Fairbanks Youth Advocates and The Door

This project seeks to fund the need for 2 refrigerators and 1 small freezer.

Fairbanks Youth Advocates and The Door provide shelter services and drop in services to teens ages 12-18 years old who are displaced and find themselves without a safe place to live.  Many of the youth who stay at The Door have run away from their homes, been kicked out of their homes, or report that they no longer feel safe in their home.  The Door shelters between 114 -130 children a year, their service is available to all who meet their age criteria, and they are open 24-7-365.

No one should have to ask themselves, 'where will I sleep tonight?', especially not a childThank you to Fairbanks Youth Advocates for your work to keep children safe, sheltered and supported.

The Door is asking for community support via this project to provide 2 refrigerators and 1 small freezer for milk, all of which need replacing.  They serve 3 meals a day to youth and 2 snacks, so dependable refrigeration is essential to providing services.  Having 2 new quality refrigerators would give The Door's staff peace of mind and help them serve their teens effectively.

Our 2 Cents Fairbanks Inc. has also added $500 to this project's budget, to be delivered in the form of a gift card to Costco, to help keep these 2 new refrigerators and small freezer stocked up!

Total cost of project: $4,200.00
