COATS FOR FAIRBANKS KIDS

Average, run of the mill winters in Interior Alaska can be an economically challenging time for families, with many added expenses due to our famously long, cold winters and our high cost of living.  But this year is far from average, and is shaping up to be extra hard on many of our interior families - who will be struggling through the prolonged repercussions of Covid-19 and its effects on our economy.  Cold weather gear is a yearly expense for parents, as children grow out of their gear or need replacements due to wear and tear and it is an absolute necessity for the safety and wellbeing for children in Alaska.

This project aims to raise $5,000 for warm, quality coats, snow pants and snowsuits that will be distributed directly to families in need.  All cold weather gear will be purchased locally in Fairbanks, AK.

We have a head start on funding this project thanks to one of our extremely generous donors and her extremely generous employer!  Special thank you Jaranda Splechter and Alyeska Pipeline for your donations and for kick starting this community project!
