On July 8th, 2019 O2C’s ‘Feed The Future’ project was delivered! 2 beautiful new refrigerators, a small milk freezer and $500 of food from Costco to The Door – Fairbank’s ONLY shelter for Homeless Youth.
This was perhaps our most collaborative fundraising effort to date and so MANY big thanks are in order;
To the Fort Wainwright Community Spouses Club who put on a successful, super fun event, specifically to benefit O2C and raised $2587 in an evening at Shopping & A Show- Fairbanks loves and appreciates you! Thank you!
Thank you to every small business who donated to the silent auction for Shopping & A Show – Vivid Beauty, S Salon & Studio, TRAX Outdoor Center, In My Element, Enchanted Forest Toys, Bad Mother Vintage, Alaska Oral and Facial Surgery Center, Cold Spot Pottery, Sweet Rose Photography, Red Photography, Brianna Reagan Art & to the O2C and Ft. Wainwright CSC board members who generously contributed as well! Fairbanks continues to prove what an incredible, caring and collaborative community it is.
Special Thanks to: Dr. Clay Van Leeuwen and Telisa Van Leeuwen for donating the entire $500 for the Cost Co gift card! <3
The St. George Family who helped us shop for the food to deliver to The Door – when planning to shop in bulk, ask your friends who have 9 kids!!!
And thanks to Glenner Anderson for donating his DJ services for Shopping & A Show! You certainly kept us all laughing.
As always, thank you to our monthly donors who continue to make these community projects a success and who continue to invest monthly in supporting the needs of Fairbanks’ most vulnerable populations.
And again! The Door is the ONLY shelter for homeless youth and teens in Fairbanks, Alaska – and perhaps now more than ever, they need our community support. Visit their website at https://www.fairbanksyouthadvocates.org/the-door/
